Serve Team Safari Our journeys bring hope & change lives!
Why Go To Africa?
One of the biggest social problems facing urbanizing Africa are the orphans and street kids. These children are at high risk of abuse, neglect, malnutrition, disease, and trafficking. Without help, these orphans, street kids and vulnerable children have NO HOPE for the future! This is your opportunity to change their world. You can make a difference by touching one child at a time with lots of love, hugs, and smiles. You can show them that there are people who genuinely care and are willing to put the love of Christ in their lives into action.
This last year we built a "Bridge School" for orphans and vulnerable children. This year we will be working in 2 different areas: 1. We will conduct another medical clinic and have a children's outreach back at the Bridge School site in Epworth, Harare. We need medical personnel for the clinic -- doctors, nurses, dentists, and more! We also need people to help with the children's outreach (primarily focusing on orphans and vulnerable children) plus helping in the school during the week we are there. 2. Construction team will be working on a project with the older orphan boys. These boys, when they turn 18, immediately have to leave where they have been living, and they are turned out on to the streets. While they have a good education, they are still orphans, have no job skills, and now are homeless. We need to build transitional housing for them while they learn a vocation so they can become productive members of society.
